deed mee aan de uitdaging van van het
Westlands Museum
om een bevrijdingsrok te maken.
De meeste quilters kennen de rokken wel.
Het was even in na de 2e wereldoorlog.
Ik geloof dat de mevrouw die ermee begon
Bossevain heette.
En er mee startte toen ze vanwege
verzetswerk
in de gevangenis zat.
De rokken hadden oranje punten.
Daarin moesten de data
van de bevrijdingsfeesten worden geborduurd.
Na een aantal jaren stierf
het gebruik een zachte dood.
Bovendien werd het niet in het hele land bekend.
Mijn moeder had er nog nooit van gehoord.
Het had ook een beetje een elitair element.
Zo komt het tenminste op mij over.
Maar goed:
buuv maakte een hardstikke leuke rok.
En niet eentje, maar twee.
Die tweede is een heel draagbare cirkelrok.
Ik vind het een leuk idee.
Maar hoef niet.
Ik hou het bij lekker buiten haken.
Het terracotta dekentje is precies de goede kleur
volgens de oma van de nieuwe spruit.
Ik steek ook veel tijd in schilderen.
Nee, het is geen meesterwerk.
Maar het is gewoon heerlijk om te doen.
De bevrijdingsrokken, ik heb ze een keertje gezien bij een tentoonstelling, ik vind ze geweldig!

Wat een enige rokken. Ik kende ze wel en vind de eerste goed passen bij de eerste rokken. Je haakwerk is enig, wat een leuke kleur. En je schilderwerk is mooi.
